Ido Aharoni Aronoff is hosting Galia Feit to discuss the philanthropic response to the October 7th atrocities and the war that followed.
The discussion focused on the outstanding pro-social behavior and solidarity in two significant categories:
(a) the spontaneous reaction of the Israelis – volunteering and donating; (b) The response of institutionalized philanthropy – NPO’s, strategic donors, philanthropic foundations and the Jewish communities abroad.
The conversation also touched upon the deficient response of government due to systemic budget cuts in social services and the dangers of leaning on NPO’s and philanthropy for delivering the bulk of social services.
